In order to do this, the lead designer would have to uproot his family to move to Switzerland. Instead of doing this, he began working and designing watches for Visconti, a world-renowned writing instrument maker. In keeping with Visconti's root designs, they have incorporated the famous bridge design on the sides of the watch. These are modeled after the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence, which is famous for its immense strength and durability, having survived several severe floods. It's also well known for having merchants on the bridge, one of the few bridges in the world where business is conducted along the length of the bridge. It is rumored that the economic concept of bankruptcy also originated at the Ponte Vecchio Bridge when one of the merchants could not pay his debts. Several government officials broke the man's table into bits and told him that he could no longer do business. This bridge design has been a part of Visconti's writing instruments for many years, and is now brilliantly and beautifully articulated onto this fine timepiece.QUALITY CONTROL + WARRANTY INFORMATIONEach Visconti of Florence watch is designed and manufactured to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship in accordance with the Florentine tradition of excellence. The quality certificate guarantees that your new Visconti watch has been subjected to and successfully passed a complete, individual cycle of tests and that it therefore meets Visconti's quality standards in full. Each watch is guaranteed against all forms of malfunction and/or manufacturing defects for a period of 36 months after the real date of purchase from an authorized dealer.
