I am pleased to offer from my private collection this MUSEUM award 111g heavy 14k solid gold&enamel full hunter oversize cased Systeme Glashutte chronometer pocket watch c1890.
This treasure has been made specially for the Royal Court of NASER AL-DIN SHAH OF PERSIA.The front cover depicting an enamel portrait of the 4th Shah of Persia- King Naser ad-Din Shah Qajar in his uniform as Commander-in-chief of the Persian Guards,wearing a feathered hat.
The back cover depicting the Lion and Sun emblem of Persia.The watch comes with the original luxury wooden presentation matching box,decorated with the Persian Crest.
MUSEUM QUALITY WATCH! MINT/PRISTINE CONDITION. The watch is a new-old stock! It looks like in the day it left the factory. We know only few like this to exist in museums and private collections! A very similar watch has been sold in Sotheby's lot 239 for $45,000.00!(see on the photo below) The watch comes with AN APPRAISAL CERTIFICATE FOR $36000 The watch is top qualty lever chronometer.
The movement is all hand finished,precision micrometric regulator,central Chaton(the ruby is mounted in a gold setting),blue Breguet hairspring,bimetal compensated balance wheel, known as a Guillaume balance wheel.
