For information call Mauricio at 310.433-9293 Ikepod really began in 1993-1994, when Oliver ike, a Swiss businessman who also worked in the furniture industry, hired Marc Newson to design wrist watches for a new "unconventional brand" Ike had become familiar with Newson as a designer because of the some of his furniture design work. Mark Newson's first wrist watch design ever was called the "Pod" and it was designed by him when he was 23 years old in 1986 Apparently, Newson himself assembled 100 pieces of the Pod watch and it was then and there that he learned just how difficult watch design, production, and construction could be. The featured watch describe is a Ikepod SeaSlug GMT "Pod" A01D in brushed satin finish Stainless Steel round bowl-shaped case measuring 39mm diameter. Rotating dive bezel with Arabic numerals. Automatic movement, power reserve up to ± 42 hours.. Displays a Anthracite Grey dial with Arabic numerals, tritium coated baton-like hands, center seconds, minute chapters and tritium dot markers at the 5-minute points at outer rim. GMT second time zone indicator, GMT indicator hand with an arrow on the end, which points to a 24-hour scale printed on the brushed, beveled metal inside rim of the case. "This 24 hour hand is independently adjustable by the winding crown. The dial as you see in photos have one circle sign from GMT hand around". The Iconic round bowl-shaped case of the IKEPOD SeaSlug GMT "Pod" A01D watch is the inspiration for the name of this classic Mark Newson creation. Some will say this is just yet another watch designed by some crazed designer. The "pod' round bowl-shaped case embodies all the essential values of the IKEPOD philosophy; design integrity as well as technical functionally. This model offers a GMT second time zone indicator. Ikepod 39 mm +/- wide. This watch is very readable, and especially so at night. SeaSlug GMT with Anthracite Grey dial. An interesting feature of the watch is the GMT second time zone indicator. This 24 hour hand is independently adjustable by the winding crown. The Sapphire crystal is slightly domed, and sunk into the dish-shaped face of the watch, which results in the crystal only slightly protruding beyond the level of the rotating dive bezel. The bezel is flush-fit with the rest of the case. The caseback has a mineral glass exhibition back. It is equipped with an ETA 2893-2 certified chronometer movement. The SeaSlug is probably the most conservative design offered by Ikepod and it is very comfortable to wear. The strap is just one of the many high points of this watch. It has several corrugations near where the strap neatly attaches to the case. This is probably the most comfortable watch you will ever wear. The weight, the shape of the case and strap, and the combine feel produce a watch that you don't really notice you have on. The watch is guaranteed 100% authentic. The GMT/second timezone is set in the first crown position, by rotating the crown forwards, towards 12 o'clock. The date, is also set with the first crown position, this time by rotating the crown backwards towards 6 o'clock. If you have the non-date model, you will still hear clicking and wheels turning anyway, as if the date window has been simply covered up on the dial. The time is set with the second crown position, which hacks. Hours, minutes, sweep second hand.
