Up for auction is an extremely RARE Loyal, 18K/18 CT Gold Chronographe Suisse wristwatch.This watch probably dates from the 1960's (ranfft).
The watch is running well and keeping time and the chronograph functions work as they should.The movement is an extremely rare and sought after Suisse Landeron 17 jewels Cal 51 manual wind; Dubois-Depraz was involved in almost every chronograph design, but nevertheless is scarcely mentioned in the literature. Back to Landeron: Charles Hahn made only the base movements. The chrono assembly was designed and produced by Dubois-Depraz, and I have no idea who deposited according patents... The case is a very large 37mm in diameter, excluding the crown, 41mm including the crown and 45mm from lug end to lug end (extremely large for the era and the norm of those years) and the case is fully signed 750/18k rose gold - please see photos for details. There is also a dust cover anti-magnetic over the movement behind the back cover.The watch is on a lightly worn beautiful black leather strap with lots of use remaining.The original dial is cream colored with red and blue tachometer indicators and original hands.Please note that this chronograph operates in the following way, which is particular to Landeron cal 51:- press the top button to start the chrono function.- press the bottom button to stop the chrono function.- press the bottom button a second time to reset the chrono.Please review the photos as these form part of the description and anything visible in the photos will be considered to have been described.Being sold “As Is” so please ask all questions before bidding, NO RETURNS...Before you start bidding, please make sure you have read and understand all terms and conditions.
