Estimated price for orientation: 8 500 $
Category: Modern
Class:
Description Brand: Audemars Piguet Age: Vintage (1970-1983) Movement: Mechanical: Hand-winding Case Material: Fine Gold Country/Region of Manufacture: Switzerland Country Made: Switzerland
Rare Audemars Piguet U.S. $20 Dollar Gold coin timepiece C.1970. Famous Audemars ultra thin, manual, high grade lever movement.
Developed in 1957, the movement is so incredibly thin that it can be completely concealed
within the interior of the coin. Not only is the movement extremely thin but it is also of the very highest grade,
jeweled to the center wheel, adjusted to five positions and for temperature. Classic silvered dial with baton indexes and beautiful blued steel baton hands.
The movement is signed "Audemars, Piguet", as is the amazing case. The Swiss engineering on this amazing piece is so fine and precise that once the case top is closed,
the operating catch sits flush with the coin edge milling and is totally invisible. The push catch is found on the right and is slightly proud in the "case open" position.
When the case top is closed, this push piece "disappears", completely merging with the coin edge milling. With the case top closed the impression given to the viewer, is that of an Antique U.S. $20 Dollar coin.
There is no indication whatsoever of the beautiful and amazing timepiece within.
