Large antique clockmakers wheel-cutting engine (22" by 12" by 22" high) complete with a range of cutters mounted on a solid wood board (22" by 10" by 1.25" thick). The dividing plate is 12 inches in diameter and has 43 rings of detent holes. The cutter arbor can be angled or set level and be moved either up and down - via one lever - or in and out via another: the result being an ability to cut straight or angled teeth. There are some 75 cutters which alone are worth £1875 if valued at just £25 each (new cutters cost £70 plus each today). There are also 14 rounding up cutters and a range of wheel blank holding arbors . This is a versatile machine that would be genuinely useful in a clock workshop and is capable of cutting wheels up to 5.5 inches in diameter or it would make a fine display piece in a retailers window. The unit is extremely heavy and would best be collected but if necessary I could ship it at the expense of the buyer. I have put a price of £80 for the cost of shipping within the UK but would only charge the actual cost once that is known.
