18 k gold double case with repoussierter scenery, smooth internal housing and the housing maker - brand 'PP' no. 3517. the two very well-preserved housings are made from 18 k gold. White enamel dial with Roman hour and outside Arab minute wreath as well as XV finely sawn Louis gold pointers; Dial and hands are very well preserved. Gold plated full plate movement with spindle inhibition, special, experimental Vee device for spindle inhibiting (see last photos), Openwork, engraved and floral designed unrest bridge, square baluster columns, signed and numbered 3517.
Diameter 50mm, weight 89 g, circa 1750-60. Gaius Mucius Scaevola: The legend - as she reported such as Livy States that Mucius saved the city of Rome, as she BC in the year 508 was besieged by the enemy Etruscan King Lars Porsenna.
