I bought this Kobold Limits A years ago from the original owner, a Navy pilot stationed aboard the USS Enterprise who flew the first combat mission into Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks.  According to the original owner there were no other Kobold's in the air the night of that first strike. This watch is number 56 out of the 100 Limits A chronographs made.  What makes this one particularly unique is that it comes on a bead blasted surgical steel Kobold "prototype" bracelet.  Of the 100 Limits A made, only 20 came on a steel bracelet and most were outfitted on a Sinn.  The original owner, who was given the watch directly from Michael Kobold, was asked to try Kobold's new stainless steel bracelet.  He wore it daily during his first deployment.  An extra bracelet link comes with this watch.The matte black dial on this watch is beautiful, free of any scratches, tool marks or defects.  The anti-glare sapphire crystal is in good condition with some light chipping around the edges.  It should be noted that over the years some dust/debris has gotten between the crystal seal and case and is resting on the underside of the crystal.  It is virtually undetectable without the aid of a loupe, a high magnification camera or unless you are straining to see from various angles.  The heavy duty surgical steel case is free of any "significant" dents or dings and shows wear commensurate with active use over the years.  I've never worn this watch as it's been safely stored in a safe for years but this was the original owner's daily wearer until around 2003.The 25 jewels Valjoux 7750 "K" stamped automatic movement is absolutely pristine.  It keeps accurate time, all of the chronograph functions work as they should and the date and day roll over smoothly.  The sharply threaded, non-dented crown on the left side of the case, which controls the inner bezel, works bi-directionally.  The original and sharply threaded, non-dented screw down crown on the right side of the case winds smoothly.  The pushers controlling the chronograph functions work perfectly, stopping, starting and resetting back to 0 precisely.  I recently wound the crown 29 full revolutions and the watch had a solid power reserve of approximately 31 hours.  The original owner said that this watch has never been serviced.  Looking at the inside of the case back, which is stamped "4057" and has no other visible markings of any kind, it appears that this watch is untouched.  Although it currently keeps near perfect time and all functions work as they should, considering the age of this watch and that it likely has never been serviced, a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 40 mm excluding the crown, approximately 43 mm including the crown and approximately 22 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the crystal, is approximately 14 mm. As mentioned above, although this watch is keeping good time and all chronograph functions work as they should, given the age of this watch and considering that it has never been serviced there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  A full overhaul is recommended to keep this watching running strong.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
