Edouard Bovet decided to stay in Canton, establishing a watchmaking dynasty that lasted 80 years. Very soon in China, “Bo Wei” became synonymous for a watch. In the currency turmoil of late Manchu China, BOVET watches spread throughout the country as a medium of exchange. Displays a White Mother of Pearl dial with polished rose gold applied Roman numeral hour markers and polished rose gold serpentine shaped hands, hours and seconds markers. Sub dial small seconds at 6 o'clock position. Power Reserve indicator located at the 3 o'clock position, Minutes markers around outer of the rim. This exceptional mechanical movement combines functionality and precision timekeeping..... AMADEO Case... Wrist/ Pocket/ Pendent or Table.... The Amadeo Concept: An ingenious system in which the watch case has been designed so that it can easily convert to be used either as a wristwatch on a leather strap, as a pocket-watch on a chain or as a desk-clock by use of a hinged stand on the case back. The transformation is accomplished by 2 button cleverly integrated in the sides of the bow & a 3rd button on the case back. The transformation process is simple & does not require any tools.     This watch comes with the optional Rose gold plated silver necklace chain to convert it a Pocket watch.--It is a fun trick to remove the straps and lower the caseback "foot" to show people how the watch can be used like a little clock. Though I suspect that these features are rarely used in any practical sense. I have to admit that the ability for the case to transform is interesting and adds value to the watch. Having said that, I think that most owners are going to spend 95% of their time or more wearing the Amadeo Fleurier watch on their wrist...
