Interesting thin pocket watch with digital jumping hour complication from 1820s.
Nice case is made of 18k gold and richly decorated by enamel.Case and dial are signed by Melly Freres (Melly Brothers).
Osvaldo Patrizzi in "Dictionnaire des Horlogers Genevois" mention Melly Freres (Ruel Melly and Ferdinand Melly) as watchmakers in 1790-1829.
Ferdinand Melly of Geneva, born 1778 - died 1846 - Master watch maker son of Antoine Melly, horological mercht in Leipzig. Ferdinand was a member of Melly Frères (1806 - 1829) folloowing the demise of the company Ferdiannd continued in business in his own right.
Together, Melly Freres were authors of special kind of lever escapement with 9 teeth, where two teeth were involved in each oscillation.
According Mr. Patrizzi, they were among the authors of petition for construction of new horological observatory in Geneva, in 1829.
Ferdinand Melly is also known as author of watch with gears with helicoidal teeth, from 1837.
From all of these we can see, that Melly brothers were talented and skilful watchmakers, interested in technical novelties.
Watch of Melly Freres are being kept in British Museum and other museums around the world.Movement is quite thin, it's fire guilt, and looks very nice.
It's in running condition, works in every position.

Case is in generally good condition, some minor defects to enamel.
The back cover opening spring is loose.The weight is about 4 grams, diameter is 40mm, height without bow is 47mm.
