Description

A beautiful condition gents  18K solid gold pocket watch by John Alexander of Arbroath. Scotland.  It will date by the London hallmarks to circa 1887.The  Very high quality  English Made movement is nicely jewelled on the gear train and has capped jewels on the escape wheel and lever.  It is very clean and running well from fully wound to run down with excellent timekeeping as you would expect with a watch of this type.  Button winding and hand set by a pin on the case rim both function smoothly. The very good condition solid gold case measures 49mm diameter approx. and has been cleaned and polished.   It has strong unstressed hinges and all covers closing well.  Front cover flips open when the button is pressed and it has a very good white ceramic dial. It has original crystal type crystal glasses fitted the front cover and the inner bezel. As it is a heavy case it will scrap for 1100-1200 pounds but it would be a shame to do that to such a nice watch.  Consequently I have set it at a price to sell which must be the cheapest on eBay.    This is a very clean pocket watch for the collector which is seldom available in this condition and good working order for an antique timepiece of 130 years old.                                         I will refund in full if the item is found to be "not as described"
