Rare 18th Cent Verge Fusee Green Leather & Pique Pinned Pair Cased Pocket - Charles Cabrier, London c.1740-60 This listing is for an rare 18th cent square pillar verge fusee pocket watch, by famous London watch and clock maker Charles Cabrier. Circa 1740-60. The watch has a gilt metal pair case with green leather and pique outer. Some minor losses to the leather and brass pins but on the whole good condition for its age. General wear to both cases commensurate with age...please see pics The watch has an English square pillar verge fusee, chain driven movement. Engraved balance cock and surround with Tompion style regulator disk. Movement signed Cha's Cabrier, London, 5723. Balance cock with engraved with an 18th century knight...see picsThe movement is running and will run the full length of the chain, it keeps good time for a verge watch as well! The original white enamel dial has bold Roman numerals and 5 minute markers, signed Cabrier, London. Wonderful steel beetle poker handsDomed glass in good condition. The watch measures approx 50.5mm across and weighs 98 grams.£1495 - Open to OffersThe movement has been removed from the case to photograph. All my watches are tested on a flat surface. I would always recommend a service if they are going to be worn and used as accurate time pieces.
