Mulford (Pg. 320 Cooksey Shugart Pricing Guide) Movement: 10 - 12 Jewels, 1842 Patent, Keeping Good Time, (Sorry, I’m not competent to open the back plate to show the Mvt.) Year made: 1850’s (166+ Years Old) Albany New York Working Order: Key Sets & Key Winds, Case Hinges tight, opening and closing like new, Old Key comes with Watch Time Keeping: Good Case Composition: 18 kt. Yellow Gold Case & Dial Case Condition: Excellent Case Measurement: 18 Size Open Face, inside back (Milford & Wendell, Albany, 18 Kt. Gold Eagle Emblem, #13,649 Dial: Gold with Engraved “Peacock” Black Hands Crystal: Clear Original Very Rare: Rated 4 Stars – Only 4 or 5 Exist J. H. Mulford, production, (1842-1876) John H. Mulford was an independent watchmaker in Albany, New York prior to the time Fasoldt thrived there. He invented his unusual deadbeat escapement and patented (patent number 2465) it on February 21, 1842. Less than a hand full of these extremely rare 3/4 plate gilt KW movements exist--just one example ever appearing at public auction in the Atwood sale. Approximately 4 or 5 known to exist to date.
