THIS IS AN ANTIQUE POCKET WATCH WITH AN 18k GOLD AND CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL CASE. The artisan case is extra thin 5MM X46MM. (NB; The extra thin case meant more delicate workmanship on the mechanism of the watch) The 18K gold case is inlaid with Champlevé enamel decoration on the front, back and edges. This watch is in perfect working condition. The case and all of the works are totally original. It has no repair marks! It is signed on the gold face "PLOJOUX GENEVE"; as well it is signed "PLOJOUX GENEVE SWITZERLAND" on the works. It also has a CROWNED SEAL and "GENEVE" stamped in two different places on the works. It is marked"19 JEWELS", "ALL ADJUSTMENTS", and has the serial number "7732" stamped on the works. The international marks for 18k GOLD is stamped on the inside of the back of the case. M A PLOJOUX was established at 30 Rue du Rhone in Geneva Switzerland in the early 1870s. He specialised in complicated, high precision watches as well as fine complex jewelry. He achieved 2 awards at the Paris world exhibition in 1878; and also won gold medals in the exhibitions of 1880 and 1896. By 1910 he had stores in Geneva, and Montreux, Switzerland and in Paris, France. This watch is quite decorative. I wore it attached to a heavy gold Georgian chatelaine chain. The last auction price that I have found in my research for this watchmaker was from an auction held by Bonham's Auctions in England where a Plojoux watch sold for a price of 7,000 pounds .I am retired and simplifying my collections.Shipping: All delicate items are triple wrapped, double boxed, tracked and insured; all this is included in the shipping cost. Items selling for over $1000 are sent expedited by air.
