 t. 442   Very early French vergeuhr of the Parisian watchmaker Marc Delamare with beautifully ornate and gilded case dating back to 1700. Lush and very fine decorated, gold plated brass case. The entire surface is decorated with a finely engraved and embossed decoration. The reverse depicts the mythological scene after Ovid "Aktaion surprised Diana with the bath water". Aktaion, the son of Apollo, trained to hunt surprises Diana bathing in the bathwater. He is then transformed into a stag in mauled by his own dogs. Present the appearance with hunting dog and bathing Diana. The case is in very nice condition, undamaged. Glass also in very good condition. Enamelled dial with Roman hour and Arabic minute. Two delicate hands made of iron. Sheet in Nice condition, between 5 and 6, as well as on the key hole restored. Very high, gold plated full plate movement with square columns. Exceptionally richly decorated with cut stone decorative elements made of silver. Works with vergehemmung, chain and Fusee. Incredibly fine cut and engraved balance bridge with Swan, dolphin, dog, Fox, and vegetal ornaments. Engraved pen regulation disc. The factory runs flawlessly. The clock is signed with "Marc Delamare A Paris". Diameter 55mm, the watch is 34mm thick and weighs 140 g.
