I purchased this watch a few years ago from a friend whose father owned a jewelry store and collected watches. Within the last year spent close to $1000 on a complete overhaul, so it's now in tip top condition. The maker didn't brand it as far as I can tell, but I've been told it was made in the Jura mountains area of Switzerland. From the markings I believe that it's 14K gold, but I've been told it's 18K. While Swiss watches are more often 18K, since it's unbranded I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually 14K. In any case, it's solid gold, and you may be able to tell from the marking in the pictures. All functions are working well, the watch keeps time, the chronograph works and the quarter repeater works. While I've been told it's from the 1890's, again, I can't be sure, but that's certainly in the ballpark. The serial number is the case number--I don't see a serial number on the movement. I didn't ask the watchmaker how many jewels it has, but it's likely in the range of 19. I'm fairly certain that it's a size 22, and I can't see it being smaller--if anything it might be slightly MORE than a 22. I would guess that it's in average condition for a watch of this age as far as the case is concerned, and I'd guess that the movement is in much better condition than that. When I got it back from the watchmaker I wound it for a few days to verify that it was keeping good time, and it was indeed quite good. I've just wound it now and it may be running a bit slow, although I really need to let it run for a day or two to be able to say for sure.I will ship it UPS ground free within the continental US with the sale, but you are responsible for receipt, if it is lost or damaged, it's still yours. If you wish to insure it you may, but as you may know that's quite expensive and you will have to be willing to pay for it. I'm willing to ship it internationally, but any cost of shipping and insurance will have to be paid for by the purchaser. Please do not bid if you are not comfortable with these shipping conditions, since it could easily require that we back out the transaction which would be a pain for both of us and eBay.
