Completely Original Men's 1928 Elgin Watch w/ Factory Bracelet Band - SERVICED The Deco movement was in full swing, art was on everyone's mind, craftsmen were doing some of their finest work, and American watch manufacturers were vying for the spotlight. Each sought to be set apart as the leader in style and design. Money flowed like a river from Wall Street to Fifth Avenue; customers could afford to pay whatever it took to have the finest, the best, the brightest. During this "Jazz Age," Elgin Watch Company decided to garner the spot as the finest, most creative American watch house. They commissioned famed artist and designer Lucien Lelong to design watches that would sum up the energy and sex appeal of the Deco movement.It's such energy that emanates from this brilliant men's 1928 Elgin wristwatch. Slightly oversized for the era at 35mm by 28mm, this Deco classic features a beefy two-piece, scalloped-corner case that has just the right amount of wrist presence. The eye is drawn to a completely original pearlescent dial with large applied "boxcar" numerals and "stained-glass" hands; all framed by a wonderful chased pattern in yellow gold fill. It is the perfect time machine to the Golden Era: wind it up, strap it on and energize yourself with that Dashiell Hammett panache so many crave and so few possess.Powered by its original ruby-jeweled movement; fitted with its original bracelet band, this stunning work of wrist art is just the ticket to wow the jury; impress the clients or create waves of envy in friends and colleagues.
