This is one of our favorite Hanhart watches, and features a single button chronograph complication in a larger 42 mm case size. What we like about Hanhart is that they did not take the typical "shortcuts" when creating this larger watch. Many brands simply plug an existing movement into a large case creating a pinched effect (the registers do not extend to the case edge and the dial is not proportional to the case size). This effect in many watches is almost comical.Hanhart has incorporated movement modifications from La Joux-Perret to change the layout of the chronograph registers and functions to correctly fit the case size.
Hanhart introduced their first single button chronograph in 1938 which was then known as Calibre 40.A single button chronograph provides ease of use in that one pusher is used to start, stop and reset the chronograph.Even today Hanhart continues to produce in-house the movement modifications necessary to incorporate the single button function by using an erosion machine to change the contour of the cam.

With so many watch brands producing chronograph watches, it's refreshing to see Hanhart taking the lead with the single button complication in much of their collection.Besides ease of use, this design attracts a great deal of interest as a conversation point since the functions differ from a standard chronograph. The distinctive red pusher is a Hanhart trademark and dates back to early Hanhart pilot's watch designs.Another Hanhart movement modification is the increased spacing between the pusher and the crown to improve ease of use. This bi-compax chronograph features a 30 minute register at 3 and small seconds at 9.  The case is in stainless steel and is fitted with a fluted bi-directional rotating bezel with red indicator.  Other features include:Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coatingScrew down case backLarge crown with deep beveled edgeMatte black accented dial with SuperLuminova on numerals and handsPower reserve of 42 hoursDate indicator at 6

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is fitted with a vintage black riveted calf skin strap with tang buckle.
