The enamel watches of the late teens through the early thirties are simply spectacular. Bulova, Elgin, Waltham — all the major watch houses, along with galaxy of Swiss firms — began vying for control of the ladies wristwatch market. Deco was in, colors and designs were vivid and spectacular and the products of this creative push were pieces such as this brilliant ladies tri-color enamel treasure Bulova. With its 14k white gold case sporting an enamel bezel of alternating apple-green and black lines interspersed with cherry-red diamonds, this rare expression of Deco prowess captures the attention of anyone lucky enough to get a glimpse of it — especially on the delicate, upturned wrist of a slippered princess. Hold this wrist to your ear and you'll feel the rush of emotion; hear the beating of two hearts: yours, and the ticking heart of this timepiece: an original, completely refreshed, 15 ruby-jeweled classic. Turn it to regard the time and you'll admire an iridescent dial; the carved Victorian wallpaper of its inner chapter flashing as the watch moves in the light, displaying hands as priceless and delicate as those of its wearer.  Measuring approx. 28mm lug to lug and 15mm wide; tucked away in a factory banded green velvet box — marked "Bulova, Fifth Avenue, New York," — this ladies enamel watch is truly as close to the Deco movement as you'll get without bumping into Zelda Fitzgerald.

As many of our fine buyers and repeat clients know, each day we offer a smattering of things we've picked up here and there, many fine watches and pieces of jewelry that for one reason or another we'll not be offering on our Web site – some new old stock! Take a moment to look through our eBay offerings and bypass the estate and yard sale madness for watches and outstanding pieces of Victorian and Deco jewelry –  many of which are running and pristine – that are ridiculously underpriced. Watches this week include a '20s ladies antique watch or two, '30s Deco pieces, a '40s military style wristwatch, and fine Retro stainless steel wristwatches that are representative of a style that’s becoming all the rage; as well as gold rings and vintage wire lug examples perfect for restoration. Coming up are sterling silver wristwatches and a few items dug out of the workbench drawer of a retired watchmaker or two. Don't know anything about wristwatches? Have no idea about your grandfather's railroad pocket watch? We're one of the Web's largest vintage wrist and pocket watch dealers and are delighted to answer any questions you have about the timepieces we offer or those heirlooms you're unsure of. We extend a heartfelt invitation to see our other offerings and stop by to find out what's next!
