The Case Large For a watch of its period not huge but due to its XL Stylised and elongated togs wears a LOT bigger this is a thick solid gold dress watch 36.7mm in diameter a massive 44.5mm lug tip to lug tip but slim at only 7.3mm tall Stepped case cast in 18ct solid gold Swiss cases and suitably 750 Helvetia hallmarked to case back inner as well as featuring the beautiful pearlesque swirls Matching the Stepped case are those HUGE teardrop stepped "fancy" lugsThe DialAgain just ultra classic dress watch superbly aged dial Patinal is even and beautiful a "creme brule" mottled Ivory cream I think one of my personal favorite touches on ANY vintage watch are those handsome & uncommon "Pontife" hands Hand riveted Gold indexes for odds & gold Arabic even numbers Subsidiary seconds dial at 6 Simply a classic Swiss dress watch dial acclaimed for purity of desighn understated luxury Again importantly all original condition dial displaying beautiful money can't buy natural age patina. So often we see these classic vintage watches repainted redialed restored and frankly ruined. collectors will look for natural age patina above a restored and redialed watch of this period So leave that dial alone! a watches dial is its story its age its history and to repaint this frankly absurd.
