This exquisite 18 carat solid yellow gold Vintage Hermes Watch is truly a one of a kind, collector's piece.Dating back to 1933, it is a functioning manual wind watch from the eponymous Parisian fashion house. The watch case is genuinely unique in the sense, it was manufactured by Sir John Bennett, “watch maker to the Queen”, “clock maker to the Royal Observatory”. The case was specifically designed for this watch and features hand engraved detail on the sides of the cases. Having done countless hours of research, I have deduced the movement to have originated from either Piaget or Jaeger Le-Coultre, both highly regarded swiss watch movement manufacturers. The case can be opened from the rear to expose the hand painted/drawn dial, revealing the original blue steeled hands with matching sub-seconds blue steeled hand. The watch could do with a service as it has been many years since it has been regularly worn.In a timeless art deco design, this gorgeous Hermes watch is 38 mm (including lugs) by 26mm (not including the crown). The size is very wearable for a man, and would easily fit a woman. Perfect as an everyday watch. I have worn this watch on a silk ribbon to formal events and it has garnered many positive compliments. The watch will be posted gently wrapped in a terry towel in a nifty florentine inlayed wooden box. The photos form part of the description. It is a very reluctant sale. The sale of the watch will help me fund my first property in the ever rising Sydney market.
