Description This watch is in very impressive condition. It is guaranteed running and keeping time Issued between 1938-41, the Hamilton Dunkirk solid gold rectangular was offered with a dial choice of Bl;ack or silver with GAN. This watch has the 982M 19j movement.
Many watches have been harvested for gold melting, there may not be very many of these left for collectors.
The case is nice and smooth not showing much wear .
will include a "pigskin" color Nos period vintage leather strap total length 7 1/2" - 8".
The case back and cover lid are still very smooth with no dedications/presentations, monograms engraved ( looks almost unused); the inner case back is factory stamped and marked 14 K serial # 618755.
28mm across, 37mm from lug to lug, The acrylic crystal is excellent. The Silver dial is very striking. It features gold applied numerals numerals, gold hands are also excellent . The sub seconds register is fully detailed but appears darker than normal, we assume the dial is more than likely refinished !
This watch is powered by a 19 jewel 982M movement serial M186776 in perfect working order . this is a fabulous example worthy of a significant collection!
