After this run was completed, another hundred where produced bringing the total to 200This watch was originally produced in 2003 as a marketing tactic to show that Invicta could manufacture more than just high grade Stainless Steel watches. They were hoping to put themselves on the map by creating the first Mass Produced Gold/Platinum Watch, however this dream was short lived as costs were high and demand was low. They eventually went back to standard Stainless, however they do still make some Special Gold editions. "We wanted to prove a point that Invicta doesn't just make high quality stainless steel watches, we have the capability and capacity to make these fine watches," Lalo said.
