This vintage 1960's Rivera Imperial Aquapearl is in incredibly well-preserved condition! This reference is so rarely seen that it's unlikely you'll find another, especially in such wonderful condition. The glossy black gilt "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial is amazing and looks even better in person. The patina on the dial and hands has aged beautifully to a toasted golden buttermilk hue. All the original tritium is intact with the exception of a minute pinhole missing on the seconds hand. Only under close scrutiny is this noticeable. The tritium emits emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light. The bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, has aged gracefully to a lovely faded gray color. The heavy duty all stainless steel case is in excellent condition, showing minor wear with the exception of a small ding on the non-crown side of the mid-case. The outer edge of the case back is engraved "ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS SUBMARINE CASE SHOCKRESISTANT INCABLOC" with "PRESSURIZED,""800 FEET-20 ATM.,""FULL PROOF" and "26-322 C" engraved in the center. The inside of the case back is engraved "ERMANO LTD." The crystal looks great. The 17 jewels unadjusted "DATUMATIC ERMANO LTD" Swiss signed ETA 2452 automatic movement with quickset date function is in near pristine condition, keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over automatically at approximately 12 am as it should. The quickset date function works by moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The crown winds smoothly. Although this watch keeps near perfect time and the date function works as it should, given its vintage nature and unknown service history (there appears to be one watchmaker service marking on the inside of the case back), a complete overhaul is recommended to keep it running strong. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11 mm. The black 18 mm genuine one keeper Tropic band with signature "ACIER" buckle, curved lug ends and straight edge non-lug end is in near mint condition. More pictures of the watch and strap can be provided upon request.Although this watch is currently running strong, given that is nearly 50 years old and appears to have only been serviced once, likely decades ago, a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!
