For sale, as I close out my almost empty watch collection, my Christopher Ward C8 Flyer SH21 Chronometer with 5 day Power Reserve.This is one of CW's newest models, released in very limited quantities right at the end of last year. It has their new signature pilot watch look and is a true in house manufacture timepiece.The watch has a 44mm (excluding crown) stainless steel case which is black DLC coated. As such, it wears a little smaller than the diameter might suggest. There are flat sapphire crystals on both the front and the back of the watch, allowing a clear view of both the movement and the dial.The two layer sandwich dial is execute in a crisp matte black and has vintage lumed indices, numerals, and hands. The date window is also vintage brown coloured but is not luminous. CW have followed through on the basic sandwich dial design for the main face by creating a sandwich viewing window for the date as well, reminiscent of an aircraft altimeter. There are sub-dials for the seconds (at 6 o'clock) and for the 5 days' power reserve (at 9 o'clock). A large pilot type crown sits on the 3 o'clock position of the case.The back of the watch has a clear view of both barrels and the balance wheel of the in house manufactured SH21 movement. This is an hand wound calibre with power reserve indicator and date display. The bridges have been DLC coated, giving an almost organic impression where it melds with the black case back of the watch. This really is a technical achievement of a movement and one that holds up impressively against the bigger name competition. The movement is chronometer certified for accuracy.Both the watch crown and the movement barrels are engraved with the historic turbine motif from the Farnborough wind tunnels, used in the development of various famous aircraft over the years.The watch comes on the original camel coloured, oversize leather strap with CW signed DLC pin buckle.I have had the watch since November 2016 and it has only been worn occasionally. The case and crystals are all absolutely immaculate. The strap has very minor signs of wear but is otherwise in excellent condition. The buckle is also unmarked. Please make sure you look at the photos and the condition description in the item details for further information. Any marks you see are either dust or fingerprints, nothing else.The watch is complete with the original inner and outer boxes, papers, chronometer certificate, and is still under approx. 4 1/2 years manufacturer's warranty.Those who have followed my auctions will know that I have had to sell off pretty much all of my watch collection due to a change in circumstances.
