Although the Hamilton 917 is not a rare pocket watch this one is unique in that it has on the dial the Packard car logo with the infamous advertising slogan "ASK THE MAN WHO OWNS ONE". This item crosses many collectible categories, pocket watches, automobiles, advertising.This pocket watch was purchased by us from an estate from which a family member was a Packard Auto Dealer in the 1940s to the 1950s.Details:Metal: 14K yellow goldWeight: 53 gramsHands: gold kiteDial: silver, applied gold numeralsCase back: plain, no inscriptionCrystal: original glassCase size: 12Movement: grade 917 - 17 jewel - adjusted 3 positionsAge: Circa 1940sCondition: We grade this watch as mint, taking into consideration the age. It appears to have never been worn and was kept in its original box. There are no signs of wear and only miniscule scratches on the case back and on the crystal at 11 o'clock.
