This extremely rare vintage Eberhard chronograph was manufactured for Eberhard by the Angelus watch company in the 1940’s. Angelus also manufactured chronograph watches for many other watch companies during the war, including Minerva, Phigued, Arval, Azimut, Abercrombie & Fitch, Rensie, and several others. The dial on this watch is marked CHRONONMETERE EBERHARD and FAB SUISSE directly underneath that. Over the watch’s 70+ years of life, these markings have practically completely faded from the dial but are still discernable with lighting and a loupe. The rest of the dial has survived the aging process beautifully and is in very good condition. The movement is engraved Eberhard and FAB-SUISSE. This watch is a very collectable piece of Angelus history. The stainless steel case on this Eberhard chronograph is 35mm in diameter without the crown. It is in great condition with no major dings, dents, scratches or other distractions. The dial is original and except for the fading of CHRONOMETERE EBERHARD and FAB SUISSE mentioned above, it is in excellent condition. The numbers and scales are gold and have not faded over time. The sub-dials are sunken and have a concentric circles pattern. All 5 hands are gold and have aged beautifully. The acrylic crystal has only minor scratches. The Angelus 215 caliber movement runs strong, keeps good time and the chronograph feature functions correctly. I have owned this watch for a few years but do not have the service record for it. Although it currently runs strong and functions correctly, it would likely benefit from a service at some point if you intend to wear it on a daily basis. The snap on back fits tightly and has no case knife marks from removing it. The watch comes on a new high-grade padded and stitched genuine leather strap with a silver tone tang buckle. This is a rare and collectible watch in excellent condition. Thank you for your interest in my watches and be sure to take a look at the other great watches that I have listed on eBay.
