Considered the first architects of time, Eugene and Alice Blum started their modest company in 1911 and introduced their first watch design in 1912. The couple’s complimentary talents and interests shaped the corporate spirit. While Eugene dealt with the technical side of the brand, Alice focused on aesthetics and their shared enthusiasm led them to great success. In spite of achieving many successes during the early years, the Ebel name was not very well known outside of Europe. In the mid nineteen twenties, Ebel began to manufacture watches for such well known names as Vacheron and Constantin and entered the North American market. The end of the twentieth century saw not only the creation of new designs but an effort to not lose the connection with the classic art design that initially made Ebel the toast of the watch making world. Now in the watch business for close to ninety years, the Ebel Watch Company retains a reputation for producing some of the finest watches in the word. The featured watch is an Automatic, Stainless Steel Ebel 1911 BTR Chronograph. Twenty years after introducing their emblematic 1911 collection, the architects of time present the ultimate Ebel series for men: 1911 BTR. Defined by their boldly contemporary aesthetics, iconic design and sophisticated technical features, these models are powered exclusively by Ebel proprietary COSC certified mechanical movements. This Ebel 1911 is energized and operated with the use of an Automatic movement mechanism with a chronograph and date adjustment. The Caliber 137 is constructed of 322 components, has 27 jewels, beats at 28,800 vph and has an approximate power reserve of 48 hours. The uniquely rounded case measures to 44.5 mm with a striking black dial that truly stands out from the rest with an elegant and classic statement. The black dial features luminescent baton hour markers with baton hands at center, date window and three chronograph subdials. Completing this piece is a black leather strap with contrasting yellow stitching and a Stainless Steel Ebel deployment buckle. It is also water resistant up to 100 meters.
