LACO WWII German Aviators Military Navigation Watch Luftwaffe 1942-1945 Swiss Watch Information This is a LACO original vintage hand-wound German Luftwaffe navigation watch. This item is a navigation watch of a German Luftwaffe crew from World War II and it is extremely difficult to find a genuine piece. This was produced by Lacher & Co. (LACO) who are recognized as the wrist watch supplier for the German Forces.Five companies, such as IWC、Lange & Soehne、Wempe、Walter Storz (Stowa) 、Lacher & Co (Laco), were approved as the manufacturer for the navigation watch. Among them, only the two companies of Lange and LACO produce original movements. Other companies used Swiss made movements. The appearances of each are almost identical. There are two types of dials but there is only a slight difference.The navigation watch for the airplane had to be worn over the flight jacket in order to check the time even when the hand is engaged by such as steering. For that reason, the strap of this type of watch is made from a long piece of leather. With this watch, the second hand is also stopped when the winding crown is pulled (hack function). All in the troop pulled the winding crowns when departing and synchronized zero second. It can be seen from this that accuracy of the wrist watch was very important for battle.The letters on the side of the watch case, FL23883 indicates the classification of the navigation equipment in the forces. B'-Uhr (B-watch) is an abbreviation for Beobachtungsuhr (Observation Watch). This type of watch movements are stored uniformly in 55mm matte grey cases. Equipment type, place of production, number of the device and the movement, classification number and the name of the producer are shown on the back cover.
Although a replaced winding crown is attached to this item, it is in an extremely well kept condition for this type of a watch. Historical watches are ideal for collections.

The echo of the sound unique to hand wound pieces is pleasant. Considering the era of this watch, it has been kept very well. ● The operation of the replaced winding crown is smooth.
