ANTIQUE 9CT ROSE GOLD DOUBLE ALBERT POCKET WATCH CHAIN - HEAVY MINT CONDITION
Estimated price for orientation: 1 100 $
Category: Victorian Edwardian 18371910
Class:
Description Material: Rose Gold
Antique Gold Watch Albert…. This is a fabulous double Victorian / Edwardian watch Albert in solid 9ct gold. I love the colour of this Albert – it is a lovely soft rose gold colour with a touch of coppery rose - not like the harsh red gold of modern days – superbly mellow and unmatched by the colour of modern gold. This lovely, heavy, chain is made up of graduated links, the largest being in the middle of each side. The links are of a heavy guage gold and you can see that from the condition ie no dings or dents. The largest link is 9.87mm long x 8.51mm wide and is 2.4mm thick. It has a central T bar and two traditional dog clips either end of the equal lengths of chain.
This is a superb Albert, each link on this chain is individually stamped 9ct – a testament to the quality of this wonderful Albert. Antique watch Alberts are becoming harder to come by these days (double ones in good condition especially), the price of gold has sadly seen many traded in and melted down because of their weight. This is such a shame as Alberts are a great piece of wearable jewellery that can be passed down generation to generation as a family heirloom. I do believe that wedding grooms are buying them to wear with a pocket watch and antique cufflinks on their wedding day. What a lovely idea and how romantic to think that they could be passed on to the next generation. I love the thought of that........... Length: 15 1/2” 39.5cm Weight: 31.7g Circa. 1900 M349
Please Note: All Weights & Measures are Approximate. Unless otherwise stated, any dimensions and estimated weights of gemstones in this description have been determined without un-setting the stones and are, therefore, to be considered only as a probable because of limitations imposed by the mount.
