Ikepod Seaslug Worldtime Alarm SA02Hello, if you've found your way to this auction, I suppose you're interested in watches and know what this is: a rather hard-to-find and expensive Ikepod Seaslug alarm, designed by famed Australian product designer Marc Newson.I purchased this watch about five years ago, second-hand, from a high-end watch dealer. I've worn it a number of times and have enjoyed and received many compliments. However, I have another Ikepod for daily wear and have decided can live without two. This watch was offered in two dial colors, white and black, each in an edition of 9999. However, in reality, I believe that IKEPOD produced far fewer of these watches, maybe just a few hundred. This particular example is one of the first 25 made with the white dial. It is my understanding that the mechanism is a typical mechanism also used by other watch makers, not a proprietary one. As a result, service parts for the mechanism should be readily available. Some of the early Hemipode-style IKEPODs had problems with their pusher caps popping off. Fortunately, the Seaslug and Seaslug Alarm do not have the problematic pushers. I believe the original price of the watch was about $6,000 on the rubber strap and maybe another $500 or $1,000 for the bracelet.Regarding condition, the watch is clean and with some very minor graze marks and impressions visible upon close scrutiny. I would consider these to be the type of marks that inevitably result from normal, careful use, not misuse. The back has six circular indentations for opening the case and light marks or impressions are visible around the edges of the circles, indicating that the watch was opened, sometime before I purchased it, perhaps not with a proprietary IKEPOD tool (if such a tool even exits). The band is straight, not stretched out, and comes with three spare links. It is the same band that is paired with the regular version of the IKEPOD Seaslug and it alone sells for $500 to $1,000. The watch's alarm function vibrates pleasantly and vigorously and all other functions work as intended. Regarding regular time keeping, the hand sweeps smoothly and keeps time well for daily wear, though it has not been put in for service recently and may doing so may be desired to bring it back within factory specs.I'm not a watch expert but will try to answer any questions.
