DESCRIPTION: Stunning and very rare used Circa late 1883 Mens ( B.Poitevin ) Pure Sterling silver manual wind pin set pocket watch.
HISTORY: Tony Mercer writes in his book Chronometer Makers of the World the following:
"POITEVIN, B (M) Rue Richelieu, Paris, 1850, Rue Vivienne, Paris, 1860-1900; 4 Quai des Chartons, Bordeaux, 1900. Succeeded by Rizzoli Dechamps trom 1880 to 1900. From 1900 the firm was owned by L. Gironde 1900-1935. N: 6743, 6744 (Paris)."

The back case as beautiful enamelling which has a a little missing on the number 9. The sides of the watch are also in beautiful condition. The case hinges are pure gold as well as the case open lips. The inner back case has No 42540 B. Poitevin 22 Rue Vivienne Paris The inner dust cover Has a beautiful edge design and has a crystal cover. The bow and crown are in very good condition. Dial: The White porcelain dial has Black Roman numerals with no hairlines or edge chips.The hands are purple steel and in mint condition. . The Crystal has no scratches. The Movement: The movement is a very high grade 15 jewel lever movement with wolftooth winders in very good working condition. Size: Across : 52 mm Thickness: 17 mm. With bow 72mm This watch is sold in AS IS CONDITION. I will accept returns if I have made a gross mistake in the description or if the watch is non working.
