Exquisite Antique Victorian Ladies Swiss Pocket Watchc1850A beautiful Swiss movement ladies pocket watch in an enamel and solid 18k gold case, 30mm three leaf open face pocket/pendant watch. 18K yellow gold case (French 18K gold mark of horse heads inside the case where the cuvette is seated when closed) with colourful enamel of a seated young girl within a small landscape while holding two roses, enclosed within a gild beaded and oval gold wreathed frame. There is a plethora of engraved wave-like swirls and scrolls over the back cover and gothic style engraving to the cases edge. The cuvette is marked for the retailer "DeVienne St. Quentin, No. 2452". Watch is signed for the retailer Devienne Lamy à St Quentin who was recorded as working at St-Quentin in 1850 with premises in Paris at Rue des Moineaux. The dial a beveled crystal overlies an unsigned white enameled 24hr dial with black Roman hour chapter (1-12), closed minute ring with Arabic markers placed every five minutes, a second red Arabic hour chapter (13-23) to the inside, gilt spade hands.The movement an unsigned Swiss bar, key wound and key set movement with straight parallel finger bridges curved centre wheel bridge and a linear bridge over and partially exposing the crown and ratchet wheels. Condition: Outer case is in very fine condition, few scratches inside the cover, small compound fracture of dial at 45 minute marker. Movement appears in very good condition working order but I am unable to guarantee the watch to be operational as there is no key. Measures: 2" long (including bail) x 1 3/16" wide x 5/16" thick
