This has to be on of the rarest finds for me to date. Purchased out of an estate of a vintage collector near St. Louis,MO.This watch was owned by a 1920's U.S. Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby.Colby made the proclamation that entered the 19th amendment into the constitution and gave Women the right to vote. He might have been wearing this very watch!He told the story of how he purchased it from his Widow Anne in the 1950'sI have no reason to deny his claim.Super rare solid 18k white gold case with black Enamel on both the front and back bezels. With a matching white gold and black enamel chain. It screams class.I have never seen one like it!Movement: Recently serviced by my watch maker, the movement running free and keeping good time. Marked: Tavannes & Watch Co. Swiss, Adjusted, 21 Jewels, 3393275. One small age spot on a winding wheel.Dial: Dial is in great condition. NO hairline cracks visible. Di-colored hands are in great condition. Dial is not marked. There are a few very slight age spots on the dial that I did not touch. Looks original in every way.Case: Case is 18k white gold. Marked: Wadsworth, 18 Karat. Case is in great condition. Even the black enamel inlay is excellent. No wear on the case. Only slight surface scratches on the mirror finish back. Bow in excellent condition.The watch measures 45mm's. Without the stem or crown.Chain: Chain is in good condition. Matches the design of the pocket watch. Measures: 14.5 inches.
