A very rare 14k gold and solid Silver New England Poker Playing Card Pocket Watch by the famous watch-maker, New England Watch Company of America, with a 15 jewelled high quality movement and rare high quality duplex escapement. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound 14k gold and silver pocket watch, made in ca. 1905. teh rear cover with inset multi-color enamel flag, possibly with a maritime connection to the first owner The buy it now price is a clear reflection of the rarity, stunning condition and long-term investment for this watch. THE DIAL: 100% mint, the solid silver and black enamelled dial inset with 12 playing cards with red diamonds and a red Jack and Queen, and in bright condition. The dial with fancy gold fleur-de-lys hands. Diameter is 38 mm. The inner crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely. THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a silvered three quarter plate and a regulator, and blue steel screws. An uncut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and duplex escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 100 year old watch. The watch with no visible movement number, but identified as a New England, Berkshire grade model and with 15 jewels. The movement signed on the top plate, "Berkshire". The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment. The watch is in very good working order for its age. THE CASE: 95% mint, the 14k gold and solid silver case measures an impressive 48 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly and the hinges are all in good tight order. The rear cover with an inset enamel naval motif of a blue flag with a red cross and small silver star to centre. The enamel with some loss, whcih if required can easily be restored. The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use. This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period watch in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
