This untouched two register Croton Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver chronograph with rarely seen matte green dial is in flawless, museum quality condition. Very few Aviator Sea Diver's came with this green dial and I've never seen another in even close to comparable condition. It is easily one of the most beautiful dials I've ever seen, on any watch. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which match in color perfectly and remains fully intact, has aged to a beautiful golden buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, looks great. The heavy duty all stainless steel case is built like a tank yet the sharp beveled edges and brushed satin finish give this case a wonderful gracefulness. It is in excellent condition, showing little wear with no noticeable dents or dings. The outer edge of the case back is engraved "WATER SHOCKRESISTANT ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE" with "106 59174" followed by "903011" engraved in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "CROTON WATCH CO. INC." followed by "SWISS." The crystal shows some scratching. The 1960's Landeron 248 manual wind movement is in pristine condition, keeping accurate time with all functions working as they should. The top pusher is a bit gummy in my humble opinion whereas the bottom pusher catches and releases nicely, but both are in excellent working condition, starting, stopping and resetting back to precisely 12 o'clock. After winding the sharply threaded crown 24 full revolutions the movement had a solid power reserve of approximately 39 hours. Although this watch currently keeps near perfect time and all the chronograph functions work as they should, considering that it is over 45 years old and likely having never been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or the movement), a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm. This watch comes on a vintage NOS, never worn rounded end 18 mm "SUB" and "MOD DEP" stamped strap with "STEEL" and "MADE IN ITALY" engraved buckle. It is in perfect condition, pliable, showing no wear and still having the new rubber smell. More pictures of the strap/buckle (as well as watch) can be provided upon request. As mentioned above, although this watch is currently keeping accurate time and the chronograph functions work as they should, this is a vintage watch that has likely never been serviced. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
