Girard-Perregaux automatic classic wristwatch, reference 4799, case in 18k solid gold. Pre 1966 model. The round shaped 18k gold case is 34mm wide not including the crown. Full length is 38,5mm. It is 20mm wide between the lugs. Girard-Perregaux is a luxury Swiss manufacturer which can trace its origins back to 1791, although the name as such only appeared in 1851. It has the same diameter of the Rolex Date. 3 - The dial looks like enamel. I am not sure of this but it certainly looks like something that is not going to fade. It is a sophisticated dial, with the hours and minutes displayed in Latin numerals. 4 - The movement is Girard-Perregaux 21 jewels automatic wind caliber 2200. The bracelet: It is a genuine signed Girard-Perregaux black leather bracelet with a signed Girard-Perregaux buckle that goes very well with the watch. The bracelet is in excellent condition, almost unused. The reference number: 4799 The watch is signed Girard Perregaux: in the dial, in the case and in the movement. The crown is not signed but it is original. This model never had a signed crown. cosmetics: dial: The original white dial is in excellent condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion. hands: the hands are in excellent condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion. case: Shows almost no wear, no bumps, no dents, no ugly scratches - see the pictures. Movement: very nice, amazing pristine condition! - see the pictures and make your own opinion. The crystal: is mineral glass and has no glazing, internal cracking neither ugly scratches - see the pictures and make your own opinion. Inside the watch: Swiss made high end manual wind 21 jewels Girard-Perregaux caliber 2200, with hack seconds and quick adjustment of the date. Service history: 1 - Not recently serviced If it is not stated that the watch has been serviced recently you would better consider a revision by an expert watchmaker, no matter how good the test results may look. Working condition: 1 - Working very well. Runs very strong. 2 - Winding is smooth. 3 - Time setting is smooth. 4 - Date adjustment works fine. You just have to pull the crown to first position and then turn the crown anti clockwise. To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do the following home testing: I test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this I purpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviation after 12 and 24 hours. The results for this watch after 12 hours: +05 seconds and after 24 hours: +15 seconds. These home tests are not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy. Actually wearing the watch in the wrist will get you different results for sure. No matter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, without any sort of warranty.
