Pocket watchRare Heavy with up & down windingindicator, ca 1899Age: ca 1899 Diameter: approx. 53 mm excluding bowWeight: approx. 140 gramsDial: Enameled Hands: Minute- and hourhand made of gold or gilded. Blued steel winding indicator hand with a pointer, probably original.
Crystal: Some smaler scratches visible.. Case: Silver, Chester, year 1899, made by "S.Y" probably Samuel Yeomans 45 Spon Street Coventry. Movement: Key wound, gilded movement, lever escapement, chain and fusee. Hand setting from center arbor on the dial. Serialnumber: Case no 77872. Movement no 77872.Accessories: Winding key Condition: Movement is in working order, but there is no guarentee concerning the timekeeping. The up & down hand moves as it should when you wind the watch. The condition is visible in the pictures. I always recommend to clean the movement and give it new fresh watch oil before regular use. History: Loomes Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World has two entries: Sizer John & son Grimsby Lincolnshire c 1900, Sizer John Grimsby Lincolnshire 1879-92. Case: Sam Yeomans was also a very fine watchmaker who submitted many watches to Kew for certification. If the watch has anything to do with him it is likely to be of good quality.
