C29 Vintage chronograph Yema Flygraf aviator's watch, with an incredible dial with dashboard configuration Yema is a French brand of watches founded in 1948 by Henri Louis Belmont in Besançon. The barrel shaped all steel case with a stainless steel screw case back is 40,8mm wide not including the crown. Full length is 46,3mm. It is 20mm wide between the lugs. Specifics of this model: 1 - Quiet a rare "Flygraf" from the historic French brand of YEMA, this Air-Pilot watch has an appetizing dial that is a feast to the eyes. 2 - Like the breitling Navitimer, it has a slide rule. The outer blue bezel rotates bi-directionally. 3 - Uses the famous Swiss made Valjoux 7736 movement, with the capability of timing a 12 hours event. https://sites.google.com/site/yemaniasaga/saga-flygraf http://valjoux-7733.blogspot.pt/2006/10/history-of-valjoux-watches.html The reference/ serial number in the back: 283977 cosmetics dial: The dial is original and in very good condition, with a few signs of age - see the pictures hands: very good condition, but they look like having been re-painted - see the pictures. case: It is in very good condition. The engravings on the stainless steel back are very good. The Yema logo in the back is very well preserved! - see the pics. Movement: finish of the movement is very good/excellent! - see the pictures. The crystal: The crystal is plastic/Plexiglas. It has no ugly scratches, no internal cracking and no glazing. - see the pictures The crown and the pushers: Show some wear, namely the crown. The crown is unmarked but seems to be original, I don't have any knowledge about Yema watches, so I leave the investigation up to you - see the pictures A good starting point: https://sites.google.com/site/yemaniasaga/saga-flygraf The bezel: has evident signs of wear but still is quite gorgeous - see the pictures Inside the watch: High quality, 17 jewels manual wind Valjoux 7736 movement. Service history: 1 - It has not being serviced recently. 2 - in 2012 the case was professionally polished. Like a car, a mechanical watch will require periodic maintenance by an expert watchmaker. Therefore, unless it is specified that the watch was serviced recently, a maintenance service is advised. This is valid for every vintage watch, not just this one. Working condition: The watch is ready to wear. It starts immediately when wound. Winding is smooth. Runs very strong. Time setting is smooth. All the chronograph functions are OK. The chronograph was put to work for more than 12 hours and it has never stopped. To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do the following home testing: I manually wind the watch, even if the watch has automatic wind, and test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this I purpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviation after 12 and 24 hours. The result after 12 hours for this watch: - 09 seconds. After 24 hours: -02 seconds These home tests are not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy. Actually wearing the watch in the wrist will get you different results for sure. No matter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, with
