Glashutte Pocket Watch to Wrist Watch Conversion w Early Rare Lange & Sohne Movement. This conversion is by definition a marriage piece - the dial is in perfect shape and is marked System Glashutte. It is difficult to determine if the dial is from the original pocket watch or not, however is an old dial and matches the dimensions and fittings to the movement.  The conversion has likely been done in recent years and has a new crown. A new leather strap has been attached to match the piece and with the buckle style, rivets and white stitching sets off the watch beautifully (see pic - displaying watch on my husband's wrist )My husband recently had two professional watchmaker/Collectors - look at the movement to confirm the authenticity. One of these individuals stated that in his opinion the movement was likely made between 1906 and 1910. The movement has the following engravings on it : "MUF" and a "deer head" or "stag head". The other unique feature that was used in these watches is a square locking nut with a groove that overlaps and locks the screw that holds the ratchet wheel in place which drives the main spring. This can be seen in our photo's and we are advised this confirms it is a Lange & Sohne movement. We had the watch cleaned, serviced and oiled. It is running very well and keeps accurate time. We were advised that none of the parts in the movement appear to be after market or newer. The diameter of the case is 45.5 mm - not including the crown. The case is 15.5 mm thick. The movement is approx.42 mm in diameter. The value in this watch is in the movement, without question. However it makes a beautiful, Glashutte wrist watch conversion, and is a looker and a great conversation piece.Note: Will ship to other designated countries for $50 including tracking.
