Exquisite and exceptional pocket watch with ¼ Repetition of the Danish watchmaker Urban Jürgensen from the period around 1820 . Extraordinary Case of gilded bronze. Dust cover with engraving Urban Jürgensen and serial number 506 . Glass in good condition with intermediate sanding and small, old typical scratches. Enamel dial in very nice condition with Arabic numbers from 1 to 12 and less brand "Urban Jürgensen" at the bottom. Three blued Breguet hands. Decentralized second. 20½ lines movement with ¼ Repetition and duplex duplex escapement. Trigger the repetition over pusher in counterpart. Repetition with two hammers on two gongs. Gilt movement with blued screws. Balance brass, without compensation, blued steel spring. Twinned duplex inhibition with two superposed gears, one of steel and the other made of brass. After completing his training as a watchmaker with his father, Jürgen Jürgensen, he attended the studio of Jacques Frederic Huriet, Ferdinand Berthoud, Breguet, Arnold and Brock Bands in London, then to Paris for Breguet. From 1801 ., Again in Copenhagen, he directed the workshop of his father 1811 he left the workshop of his father to his brother Frederick Jürgensen, founding the einene company. 1801 he developed with Houriet the metal thermometer in pocket form. 1804 he published his first work: "General principles throughout the timekeeping by clocks ". 1809 he began production of watches, it emerged pocket watches, marine chronometers and astronomical clocks. 1815 named as" first craftsman ". Joining the "Scientific Society of Copenhagen". 1824 knighted by Dannebrog. In the years 1800 - 1830 he produced outstanding pocket watches and chronometers and tourbillons. A total of about 700 pieces. He invented the double wheel-duplex escapement and the steel Escapement for cylinder escapement. He died 1830 .
