Desirable antique c1869 American Watch Co. Appleton-Tracey 18k solid gold 18 size hunter case pocket watch with Foggs Patent safety pinion. The William Ellery grade key wind and set mechanical movement(serial #492051) presently runs and keeps time. There is no key with the watch. The watch is in overall nice condition. Crystal is clear with no cracks or scratches and dial is clean with no hairlines. The heavy 18k solid gold hunter case shows only a couple of tiny dings and is engraved front and back with some type of crest form cartouches. No monograms. The front cover has an old repair down at the bottom near the hinge which is presently tight and secure. The gross weight of the watch is 118.5 grams. Movement is stamped Appleton-Tracey Co. waltham Mass. foggs patent 492051. Enlarge all pics for best details.
