Here for sale we have this solid 9ct Rose gold pocket watch,This watch was presented to Corporal William J Malcolm of the Royal Scots Fusiliers by the people of Crookedholm upon winning the Military Medal for bravery in the field during the campaign on the Italian front.Corporal William J Malcolm saved the lives of nine casualties in a minefield by tracing out a safe path with his hands through the minefield to the wounded soldiers and successfully escorted them back to the beach where he dug slit trenches for the casualties and remained with them until daylight when he was able to evacuate them to the regimental aid post.The watch features a white dial with black hands and black numbers marking the hours with subsidiary seconds, the dial is signed "Rankin & Forbes KilmarnockSwiss Made"The manual wind mechanism is running and keeping time.Dial diameter: 41mmCase diameter: 51mmWeight: 109.7 gramsIn fantastic condition!!Please take a look at our other items for sale.
